MELINA SHIBLI

Biografia

My name is Mélina Shibli, I am 23 years old, half Greek and half Arab, and a graduate of Istituto Marangoni Firenze. My passion for fashion comes from the desire to transform tradition and heritage into contemporary, innovative forms of expression. Through my designs, I aim to merge cultural identity with modern aesthetics, creating bold silhouettes that carry both personal and universal narratives.

Concept

‘Silent Imprints’ is inspired by Palestinian garments and embroidery, reinterpreted into contemporary silhouettes and knitted textile patterns that explore the dialogue between tradition and modernity. The collection employs methods such as layering, deconstruction, and contrast to bring heritage into a modern context. These art forms, passed down through generations, represent a culture threatened by erasure—making their preservation an essential act of resistance and continuity. By incorporating YKK zippers, I add functionality and modularity into my designs, ensuring a balance between technical precision and artistic expression.
