Nora Aldamer, head designer of Kalyah, was born and raised in Riyadh the capital of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Her early education was in a very conservative and strict school limited her artistic creativity that she long loved. She found herself as a child wandering and experimenting at home with her two sisters. She later graduated college as a clinical dietitian and after a few years, she decided to change her career path and became a certified Pilates instructor. Nora still felt an urge to go back to her childhood dream of constantly creating and innovating. And in 2013 She started Kalyah due to the high demand for traditional clothing with high international standards. Coming from the same background and having the same needs made her know what the market was lacking and the brand quickly made its name in her hometown of Riyadh. Determined to make her way through the small almost nonexistent fashion industry in the region, she enrolled at Parsons School of Design, New York in 2014 and graduated with a degree in Fashion design in May of 2016. In the same year she won Vogue Saudi talents scouting and show cased her Spring-Summer 2017 Collection in Plazzo Morando Milano. In February of 2016, she had the honor of displaying her Autumn Winter 18 collection at The Fashion Hub Market in Milan. The Collection gained encouraging reviews and Nora keeps creating.
