DHL Exported to support young designers

DHL and IMG Fashion have announced the launch of DHL Exported, a program to help young designers that is also supported by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (the Italian Chamber of Fashion), the British Fashion Council, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York and Japan Fashion Week Organization.

DHL Exported is aimed at young designers from all over the world who are already successful locally and who are looking to improve their global reach by taking part in one of the most important Fashion Weeks in the world. Candidates must submit their application to www.DHLExported.com by April 9 2014, indicating an event of their choice between the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week or Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. The winners, chosen by a panel of experts in the four fields will be announced in May.

DHL will sponsor the winners for two consecutive seasons during each of the four Fashion Weeks, financing and producing the collections and covering all the related shipping and export costs. During each Fashion Week as part of the official calendar there will be a fashion show as well as a digital platform that will integrate an e-commerce portal to support the sale of the collections while the round table discussions will give the opportunity to meet and discuss topics related to the fashion industry with leading industry experts.

“We welcome the initiative promoted by DHL and IMG Fashion because it is totally in line with our vision of the future of the fashion industry that must support young designers. Supporting them properly in their business with projects such as these that break down international barriers with the help of the digital world is one of the primary objectives that the CNMI will focus on from now on” – commented Jane Reeve, CEO.
