On Saturday 24 February 2017 Anna Dello Russo was the star of a special event promoted by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana on the occasion of Milano Moda Donna. It revolved around the immense archive kept by Anna, a “fashion maniac” (as giant Helmut Newton once defined her) who has collected everything she’s worn throughout her fabulous career in fashion.

The event opened with an auction held by Christie’s offering 30 outfits from Anna’s precious archive and a hat, a one-off piece designed by Gareth Pugh, personalized with Swarovski crystals. Bidding started at 50 euros (Anna wanted to make sure her treasure ended up in young hands) and all the proceeds from the auction went to the Swarovski Foundation Scholarship Program. Followed by an exclusive dinner and a party to close an event in which the physical met the virtual and fashion married with entertainment, with a decidedly pop twist.

On the occasion of this fashion week in Milan, the city where Anna Dello Russo’s visionary genius blossomed and her career took off, she has also decided to present her AdR Book: Beyond Fashion. Not a celebration of her person or work but rather a passing on of the torch to the new generations.

Beyond Fashion (published by Phaidon) is a three-dimensional cabinet of curiosities that captures the many sides of fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, conceived with her long time friend and collaborator, art director Luca Stoppini. Made up of eight objects that narrate her long fashion journey.

The Adr Event was a big digital event, a true entertainment performance. Audience had the opportunity to watch the auction live streaming on and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana app. The auction was broadcasted on the video wall located in Via Croce Rossa at the core of the Quadrilatero della moda at 8pm (CET) on February 24.
