FASHION DESERVES THE WORLD

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana presents the second edition of Fashion Deserves The World this year. The project, created in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and Mygrants, was first launched last year on World Refugee Day as part of CNMI's program to promote inclusivity and to value differences in the fashion industry.

The project offers 15 young migrants and refugees the opportunity to work in the fashion and luxury industry by gaining knowledge through a free educational program

The second edition of the project will focus on Made in Italy and handicrafts, helping young people gain knowledge to re-capture roles such as tailor, pattern maker and embroiderer.

From those who apply, the CNMI will select 15 finalists, who, starting in March/April 2023, will have the opportunity to participate in training sessions to explore topics ranging from knowledge of materials and production techniques to hands-on workshops.

As happened in the first edition, once the training is over, CNMI, UNHCR and Mygrants will support the 15 profiles in the integration process inside the members’ companies of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, which have decided to take part in the initiative. The companies will evaluate a possible insertion in their staff through internships or employment contracts according to their needs and the specific profiles of the candidates.
