Gucci launches Guccimuseo.com

Gucci has launched its online museum, Guccimuseo.com. The website provides the experience of visiting the Florentine museum dedicated to the Italian fashion house based in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia.

"I wanted to let Gucci's precious historic legacy live on, to celebrate the great narrative potential that lies behind the incredible variety of products and iconic motifs. This was the motivation behind the creation of the Gucci Museum on the 90th anniversary of the company in 2011. Today, three years later, I'm very happy to open the doors of the museum to the entire world over the Internet," said Frida Giannini, Creative Director at Gucci, about the new project that brings together the contemporary spirit of the brand with the world of the web.

Thanks to Guccimuseo.com, the museum can be visited virtually on desktops, tablets and smartphones. The website, available in eight languages, is divided into three sections: "Archive" contains photographs, videos and panoramic views of the museum's spaces that describe the icons created by Gucci, from the Bamboo Bag to the Flora print. "Gucci and Art" is dedicated to the temporary exhibitions at the museum, and to all the initiatives that promote contemporary art and tie the fashion house to prestigious partners like the Venice Biennale, Tribeca and The Film Foundation. Finally, "Museum" contains all the information about the museum itself: opening hours, address; the history of the historic building where the museum is located; the Gucci heritage, and historic photographs of the Piazza della Signoria.
