THE OLYMPICS LOVE THE MADE IN ITALY

Even the London Olympic Games had their moment of a fashion show: in fact, during the opening ceremony the various delegations entered the new Olympic Stadium accompanied by music and wearing garments created by some of the greatest designers in the world. It's no news that the Olympic delegations often choose to have their official uniforms created by the biggest names in fashion, usually of their own nationality, so it was for example, for the United States who chose Ralph Lauren and the United Kingdom with Stella McCartney; during the London 2012 ceremony a good three times the name of Made in Italy was heard, again giving a living proof of its importance.

The uniforms of the Italian delegation were taken care of by Giorgio Armani with its EA7 line dedicated just to sportswear; the complete kit included over 50 pieces of navy blue and white to express the idea of elegance, so much that the Azzurri team had to wear a tie during the opening show.

The Republic of San Marino delegation, despite the small number of participants, did not give up doing big things, so they turned to one of the Italian luxury brands: Salvatore Ferragamo, who created for the women athletes a blue linen blazer worn over a crepe de chine shirt and white pants, a white silk crepe sheath dress for formal occasions, while for the men a pinstripe suit, and if in London the weather was to get cold, here is the classic trench coat.

Ermanno Scervino, instead, created the uniforms of Azerbaijan for which he started with the colors and symbols of the Azerbaijan flag which lives in neckties and silk scarves that accompanied the deconstructed jackets that men wear over chinos and women over tapered skirts. So three are the medals that the Made in Italy brings home from the Olympics.
