VERSACE HOME, THE BAROQUE 3D

The iconic baroque motifs of Versace abandon the two-dimension of the catwalk and almost come alive in the collection Home. The sinuous lines build enveloping and dynamic shapes, the opulent Baroque irregularities result in asymmetries that reveal themselves rather close to the language of contemporary design, the artists mannerist research becomes the search for materials that can render the furniture piece unique. The daybed abandons the typical structure of a low back at one of the extremities: the Wave looks like a shell which, like a Versace’s mermaid, has left the bottom of the sea and lives in the cities, in electric blue as the deepest depths or in acid green as the oceanic Posidonia.
