Luna Rossa at the Science Museum

The catamaran AC72 launched in Auckland on 26 October 2012 is now on permanent display at the Leonardo Da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology.

Following its transfer from Cagliari to Milan, the 5.9 ton catamaran has been assembled in the Museum’s Sea and Air section, where it’s suspended at a height of 5 metres so visitors can appreciate, from below or from the gallery, all the design and construction complexities, as well as the details of the components. The Museum has also announced an upcoming interactive exhibition that will enable visitors to discover all the curiosities of this catamaran, the history of the America’s Cup and Team Luna Rossa.

Founded in 1997 by Patrizio Bertelli, Team Luna Rossa debuted with a victory in the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2000 and took part in the America’s Cup in 2003, 2007 and 2013.
