The Fashion Rebirth

The “The Fashion Rebirth – the Manifesto for Sustainability and the Third Paradise together for the rebirth of fashion” event, jointly organized by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, took place on Monday July 23rd at Superstudio Più – SuperOrtoPiù in Milan.

The debate, meant for fashion professionals, young designers, students, journalists and buyers, was the occasion to discuss fashion in ethical terms. Can fashion be born again and renew itself starting from sustainability? This question was answered by the speeches by the President of CNMI Mario Boselli, the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, the editor of “Tessile e salute” Mauro Rossetti and the Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Andrey Vasilyev.

The conversation was enlivened by the significant contributions of designer Stella Jean, who promotes a vision of ethical fashion, Rossella Ravagli, Head of CS&R at Gucci, Alessia Corsetti, Senior legal Counsel at Valentino, fashion houses that are committed to develop their own sustainability policy.

The debate took place against the backdrop of  “The Third Paradise” by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The artwork symbolizing the rebirth of society inspired by the balance between man and nature was chosen by CNMI as the symbol of the “Manifesto for Sustainability in Italian Fashion”.
