Conference “Made in Italy: re-use of fashion heritage and new digital perspectives”

On Wednesday April 9 the conference “Made in Italy: re-use of fashion heritage and new digital perspectives” was held in London at the Victoria & Albert Museum in conjunction with the exhibition “The Glamour of Italian Fashion. 1945-2014”. Jane Reeve, CEO of the Italian Fashion Council was one of the speakers at the event.

In the analysis carried out by Jane Reeve Italian brands were among the first to seize the enormous opportunity of digital technology. By publishing ever increasingly more sophisticated and effective content they have made the web platform a valuable tool to carry their identify and values to new markets.

The CEO of the Italian Fashion Council then focused on the extreme importance of the digital world in promoting individual designers. It is an indispensable tool not only for young designers who often use it as their favourite means of communication, but also for artisans seeking international visibility through the use of e-commerce.

The Digital world is a strategic lever to systemize all the players in the Italian fashion industry and contribute to the evolution of the reputation of all products that are Made in ItalyIt is an ideal means to develop synergies, spread culture and enhance the entire system of the Italian fashion industry and generate benefits for all those involved”. These were the words of Jane Reeve talking about the ambitious mission of the Italian Fashion Council: to enhance and promote products that are entirely made in Italy, and reawaken the pride of all things Italian.
