Gucci restores "Rebel without a cause"

On November 1 in Los Angeles, Gucci, The Film Foundation and Warner Bros will present the restored version of the film Rebel Without a Cause by Nicholas Ray. Almost sixty years after the death of James Dean, it will be a comeback for the masterpiece that established him as an icon of cinema and fashion, recounting the juvenile anxieties of the '50s and the generation clash in American families. It is a film that has become part of the history of film and customs, and has fixed in the collective imagination the style of the actor, which has never ceased to inspire fashion. "Gucci has a long tradition of supporting art and cinema, and we are proud to announce our tenth restoration project in partnership with The Film Foundation," said creative director Frida Giannini.

"Thanks to Martin Scorsese and Warner Bros., the timeless story of Rebel Without a Cause will be appreciated by a new generation exactly in the way that it was conceived by Nicholas Ray. To make this event in the history of cinema even more special will be the partnership with LACMA and the choice of the venue for its presentation: Los Angeles, the city where the film was originally filmed in 1955.
