PIETRO FADDA

 ISTITUTO MARANGONI

He was born in Cagliari in 1997, from sardinian parents, but the family soon after moved to Como, where he still lives. He studied the classics at Liceo Volta in Como, developing an interest in writing and philosophy.

He decided however to pursue a career in Fashion Design, believing that design was a field that would have combined his necessity to express his creativity to his need to find an activity that required a deep and complex cultural and conceptual research. He is now attending the third year of the three-year course of Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. He conceives design as a way to reflect the society in which we live through the creation of an artistic and cultural product. His aim is to pursue a creative path characterized by innovation and experimentation, that connects fashion design, music, graphic design and cinema.

“Nextodus - a modern tale of escape”

The theme of the collection draws inspiration from an analysis of radical Italian design at the turn of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, in particular the work and philosophy of the Archizoom Associati collective and their project "Dressing is Easy" presented in 1973, which consisted of a proposal of “do-it-yourself” garments, aimed at narrowing the gap between fashion producer and consumer, as they required an active approach by the user in the act of wearing them. The collection is therefore composed of multi-functional and versatile garments that can be worn in different ways and freely assembled. Conceptually, the collection aims to imagine the clothing of a hypothetical neo-primordial community, which chooses to live in a utopian world configured as a sort of artificial Eden, where the sincerity of interpersonal relationships and the taste for an essential and reasoned design are rediscovered.
