Pradasphere in Hong Kong

Pradasphere, the exhibition exploring the universe of Prada, lands at Hong Kong’s fascinating Central Ferry Pier 4 where it will remain open until December 4th.

The project is curated by Prada creative director Fabio Zambernardi in collaboration with New York designer and writer Michael Rock and his 2x4 studio. The exhibition unveils the complex and fascinating references hiding behind the choices of Miuccia Prada and her assistants, takes us through an aesthetic journey and a critical analysis at the same time, celebrates the sublime materiality and craftsmanship of the brand, is a true statement in support of fashion iconoclasm.

At the centre of the exhibition, 6 big glass showcases display the central themes that have characterized Prada’s work: modernism, figuration, continentalism, excessivity, animality, femasculinity. Around them, the other sections of the exhibition: “Origins” shows original products dating back to the opening of the first Prada store in 1913 at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milano; “Evolution” represents a detailed Prada timeline; “Items” groups shoes and bags from past collections according to themes; “Construction” reveals the most iconic looks of Prada’s fashion shows through a full-height monitor; “Observation” is a screening room where you can watch the films in which Prada has collaborated with as great directors as Ridley Scott, Roman Polanski, Wes Anderson.
