THE PROJECT:
Following the unquestionable success of the first edition, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has started a second edition of the Fashion Incubator, a project aimed at fostering the start-up and development of small fashion firms.
The project is funded by the Municipality of Milan – Councillor for Research, Innovation, Human Resources ( Mr. Rossi Bernardi) and realized by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. The new premises of the Incubator are at 18 Via Santa Marta, with the historical Società d'Incoraggiamento d'Arti e Mestieri where the young businesses can use office facilities and workshops as well as a centralized secretariat. According to the project, fashion firms are supposed to be supported and led to the start-up through counselling, promotion activities abroad, communication initiatives, fashion shows, meetings with buyers and the participation in show room presentations. The counselling, which began in April 2008, allowed the Project participants to deepen their knowledge of important topics related to the start-up of a business (licensing, trade-mark registration, business management), to study the aspects particularly related to the collections ( design, fabrics, trends and samples) and to come into contact with the distribution and marketing world ( buyers and showroom representatives). The main communications events: first important meeting with the Press on July 11 at Palazzo Marino on the occasion of Press Conference of the Project, the two events abroad ( Tokyo and Bratislava), and the SEPTEMBER fashion show during the Milan Fashion Week.
