NU-DE New Designers Project ready to go at Milano Moda Donna Fall/Winter 2005-06 (english version)

Milan, the undisputed leader of the Pret a Porter, renews its format, experiments with new initiatives and re-designs the calendar of fashion shows, assigning new spaces to upcoming designers. With effect from Milano Moda Donna Fall/Winter 2005-06 starting next February, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will schedule one day of the official calendar to the NU-DE New Designers project. For a while now, the Council of CNMI has noticed the need to support and promote new Italian and international fashion talents, being absolutely convinced that in a period of crisis of the sector, a new energy could come out from young people. Milano Moda Donna, the most important fashion week in the world for the value of brands presented, for the solidity of trade proposals and for the huge number of insiders attending, is the perfect scenario in which to launch new names. However, it only has a limited number of days and, at the same time, continuous requests of placement in the schedule from prestigious fashion houses. Young people, obviously, cannot get into the official calendar easily. There are also heavy costs involved in a fashion show. In consideration of these factors, the NU-DE project is born.
