“Homage to the Italian Flag: interpretations and expressions of style” displayed in Montecarlo until January 2nd 2012.

Twenty-four of the most famous and gifted contemporary Italian stylists, who have all crucially contributed to the promotion of Italian fashion in the world, have been asked to design and interpret the Italian flag in their very own personal way.

The idea originated in 2004 when the “Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana” (the National Chamber of Italian Fashion) decided to add a touch of glamour to the central icon of the Republic of Italy by harmonising the stylists’ vibrant creativity with a symbolic interpretation of the tri-colour flag.

Each one of the participating designers was invited to take needle and thread to “dress” and interpret the Italian flag in their own style, brand identity and sensitiveness. The result is “Homage to the Italian Flag: interpretations and expressions of style”  a unique exhibition representing the historical and cultural heritage of this beloved symbol of national identity.

The twenty-four contributing fashion designers are:

Alberta Ferretti, Albino, Anna Molinari, Byblos, Brioni, Costume National, Emilio Pucci, Enrico Coveri, Ermanno Scervino, Etro, Francesco Scognamiglio, Frankie Morello, Gattinoni, Iceberg, Krizia, Laura Biagiotti, Luciano Soprani, Max Mara, Missoni, Moschino, Roberto Cavalli, Rocco Barocco, Salvatore Ferravamo, Trussardi.

The exhibition “Stile Italiano Arte e Design” and the flags of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will be hosted until January 2nd 2012 at Forum Grimaldi in Montecarlo.
