Give voice to a new generation of creative people which, starting from Italy, are changing the image of fashion in the world. This is the ambitious aim of the show Men in Italy, wanted and strongly supported by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana during the Man Fashion Week of January 2011. a project developed with a board of professionals that operate within the Milano fashion system, headed by Stefano Roncato, fashion director of  MF Fashion, MFF Magazine and MFL Magazine.

“Milano breaths creativity – explained Roncato – and behind the famous and big name brands there is a new generation of photographers, fashion editors and stylists that are imprinting their mark in a precise and profound way”. The show, that saw the participation of 20 creative couples (photographer + stylist) facing the task of portraying the contemporary Italian man’s style, took place from 15th to 18th of January 2011 in the prestigious framework of Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milano, the heart of Fashion Hub of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. The show opened with a sold out inaugural event,  at the presence of VIPs, but also Italian and international bloggers, who were in Milano during the fashion week, allowing for the opening to the general public in the following days.

In parallel with the staging at  Palazzo Giureconsulti, cured by Marco Ramon and Marco Paolo Di Marco of Exhibita, with the art direction of Carlo Trentin of L’Officiel, Men in Italy had its digital declination with the dedicated blog www.meninitaly.com, cured by Giuliano Federico of Modecracy.com, which scattered  buzzing on the web during the days prior to the exhibition and reserved a ‘grand finale’ with publication of all the works of the creative couples along with their backstage videos.

An important aspect which - according to the journalist of D Online Simone Marchetti, member of the board of Men in Italy - has stressed the need to “embrace the new technologies of the media revolution”. In the staging of the event, in fact, there was a hall with the exhibition of photos and videos presented by the creative couples and a hall dedicated to an in-depth understanding of the same couples, with interviews cured by Gerry Mandara. These interviews had the aim to present at their best the new generation of fashion professionals to whom Camera della Moda Italiana has dedicated this initiative since “creating a system – as explained Mario Boselli, President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana - around fashion is the best chance we have as a Country and as an industry to tackle and win the challenges on the international markets” . On the blog it is still possible to see all the works exhibited during the show, whose official communication was cured by Riccardo Vannetti and the modeling by Piergiorgio Del Moro. On the inauguration day of Men in Italy, one of the most prestigious online fashion media of the moment, Nowness.com dedicated a space to Milano event with the preview presentation of the video cured by Marco Braga and Anna Dello Russo.
