CLOSING PRESS CONFERENCE

COMUNICATO STAMPA

This Milano Moda Donna edition has had a great success animating and invading the centre of Milan from the 22nd to the 28th of Septembre.

The principle idea and choice of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to bring the fashion shows right in the centre of the city were widely apreciated by all the involved participants. The citizens have lived the events, the stylists have finally shown a common intent, the buyers and the operators in the fair field have changed their dates, and the national and international press covered in mass the events all along the fashion week.

The international guests have shown great enthusiasm, fascinated by the beauty of the historical buildings hosting the fashion shows. And it was decided to open new charmful ones in the centre for the next editions of Milano Moda Donna and for Milano Moda Uomo.

The most important and biggest designers of Pret-à-porter have presented 171 collections to the experts of the sector showing the trend for the next Spring/Summer 2011. 78 fashion shows in total for 71 brands, 78 presentations for 73 brands and 27 presentations on appointment, all fit in a general and rational Schedule for working without stress.

“The Fashion week, Milan's Mayor Letizia Moratti said, has transformed Milan in a window of excellence of the "Made in Italy" for the extraordinary mix of events that permitted at the same time to involve the citizens, and the working operators. Milan has been under the light projectors of the whole world, it has celebrated its own creativity, its own style, its own traditional couture, confirming once again its role of the fashion capital through its italian talents, that the entire world admires”.

"I am totally satisfied- the President of Camera della Moda Mario Boselli said – how this revolutionary edition of Milano Moda Donna was prepared and realised. Frankly talking it has been over my best expectations. It is never easy to evaluate the risks when you decide to change the format that has gone well for over 30 years. The problems were even bigger this time because we have changed the Schedule, the locations of the fashion shows and the operational centre of the Camera Della Moda di Milano. We had a very good and positive result by opening the city centre to the people who was asking for a more opened and democratic fashion, Now we have to consolidate this experience by maintaining and bettering this standard of excellency, considering the indications received this week. we might say that it has been definitely the rebirth of Milano Moda Donna."
