Angelos Bratis, the Milan-based Greek designer and winner of the 2011 “Who’s on Next” competition, showed for the first time at the Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week in Beijing, thanks to the support of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Alcantara. This initiative followed the designer’s recent presentation during Milan Fashion Week.

Bratis presented his Spring/Summer 2016 collection on the runway at the 751 Art District to leading journalists, buyers, VIPs and representatives of international institutions.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is pleased to support this project, aiming to foster the new generation of designers in strategic markets such as China. I am confident that the audience appreciated Angelos Bratis’s talent”, says Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI. “Moreover, this initiative will further strengthen the relationship between CNMI and China Fashion Association, with whom it signed an agreement in 2011”.

The agreement between Italy and China was created with the intention of developing a common global strategy - respecting specific features of the textile and clothing industries in the two countries. The collaboration looks to promote mutual hospitality and encourage Italian and Chinese designers and companies to participate in commercial projects and promotional events, both in Milan and Beijing – thereby facilitating the relationship and supporting Italian companies’ access to the Chinese market.
