“A Rose Reborn”, a film by Ermenegildo Zegna

At the end of the Singapore Fashion Week, Ermenegildo Zegna presented for the first time the full footage of the fashion film A Rose Reborn by director Park Chan-wook.

The screening, hosted by Paolo Zegna and Stefano Pilati, was attended by over 100 guests, among them stars like Daniel Wu, Stephen Fung, Joseph Chang, Joe Chen, Li Chen, Guo Jingfei, Du Juan, Ho-Pin Tung. The inspiration for this innovative project, production, styling, performance and the link between fashion and film industry have been shared with the audience by creative director Stefano Pilati, director Park Chan-wook and actor Daniel Wu. Following the screening, they have expanded on the “New Leadership Generation” concept developed by the brand, which is the focus of the film.

Divided into 4 episodes, A Rose Reborn, narrates through symbolism and art the promise of a greater social awareness under the leadership of a new generation of leaders played by Asian actor Daniel Wu and British star Jack Huston. They are men who examine the world around them, who are able to look deep into themselves, to live at ease in their own environment, to create, inspire, influence decisions and accomplish their projects. Their style reflects their conscience, and becomes the means through which the fashion house’s style innovation can be told.

The film costumes have been selected from the full range of the Zegna collections, Stefano Pilati has personally attended to the wardrobe of both protagonists. The evolution of the protagonist Stephen is influenced by the encounter with Mr. Lu and the metaphoric exchange of clothes between the two. This is how separates, the pillar of Pilati’s Couture collection, are introduced. They represent the new idea of elegance, consisting in wearing the jacket of a suit with the trousers of another with perfectly matched colours. So the formal classic becomes original and reveals new possibilities. The suit becomes a different suit meant for a new personality, for a new generation of leaders.
